Genuine Believers Are Married For Life

This is a reminder for those who believe in the case of two genuine believers in Jesus who were free to marry according to the Word of Jesus when they married, that:
>1. The husband is instructed by Jesus to unselfishly and compassionately cherish his wife in the unconditional Love of Jesus (1Cor 13), to live wisely and thoughtfully with her (Eph 5:
22-33; 1 Pt 3:7), to not dominate or master or subdue her but rather to serve and help her (Lk 22:24-26), to live joyfully with her (Eccles 9:9), to regularly be loving her intimately and sexually (1 Cor 7:1-5; Prov 5:15-19), and to be sensitive and responsive to Jesus in her and
her godly needs (Eph 5:15-21; 1 John 3:16,17,18)
>2. The wife is instructed by Jesus to regularly show affection and respect to her man, behaving respectfully toward him as the authority Jesus has placed over her (Eph 5:22-33; Rom 13:1-5; Tts. 2:4), to not tell or teach him what to do - when to do it - how to do it -
especially if he is disobeying Jesus Word (1 Tim 2:11,12; 1 Pet 3:1-6), to enable her man to live joyfully with her (Eccles 9:9), to regularly be loving him intimately and sexually allowing and enabling him to be in ecstasy with her body and loving (1 Cor 7:1-5; Prov 5:15-19),
and to be sensitive and responsive to Jesus in him and his godly needs (Eph 5:15-21; 1 John 3:16,17,18)
>3. The wife is maritally bound to her husband in the Kingdom as long as he lives; but if her husband’s body dies, she is then free to marry whomsoever she wishes as long as he is a genuine believer in Jesus and free according to the Word of Jesus to marry her. 1 Cor 7: 39: Rom 7:1-4
>4. The wife should not separate from her husband, except in the case of 1 Cor 5:11, but if she does separate from him, she should remain chastely unmarried/separated, or be reconciled to her husband. 1 Cor 7:10,11
>5. The husband should never send away, ask to leave, divorce, disregard, leave, neglect, depart from, desert, leave behind, abandon or leave destitute his wife. [See Strong’s on 1Cor 7:11]
>6. No where in the NT is a husband ever commanded by God to divorce his wife, even for what Jesus’ Word says is sex sin, sexual immorality. Even in Deut 24 there is no command to divorce. The only God blessed divorce is when the saved divorces the unsaved who has left, deserted, abandoned and/or forsaken the saved, who is now ready to move on and remarry in the Lord (1 Cor 7:15). Most other divorce is for those who are hard hearted who do what God hates (Mat 19:1-12; Malachi 2:14-16).
>7. If one of them becomes involved in what Jesus Word says is sex sin, sexual immorality, divorce is not the answer since Jesus Word says that Christian discipline should take place according to Gal 6:1; 2 Tim 2:24-26; Mat 18:15,1 6,17; 1 Cor 5:11; 1 Cor 5:3-5; 2 Cor 7: 10,11; 2 Cor 2:5-11.
>8. What Jesus Word’s declares to be sex sin, sexual immorality, does not terminate, undo or void their marriage because the husband and wife are maritally bound to each other even if one of them has a hard heart (Mat 19:1-12) and disobediently divorces the other (1Cor 7:
11), since Jesus says it would be adultery for her to marry someone else (Mat 19:9; Mark 10: 12).
>9. If the mate involved in what Jesus’ Word says is sex sin does not repent of and forsake what Jesus Word says is sex sin, sexual immorality, and does not experience Jesus’ chastening as significant weakness or sickness or personal loss (1 Cor 11:30,32) after 1 Cor
5:3-5 and Mat 18:15,16 have been done, then that mate is to be considered and treated as an unbeliever (Heb 5:8,9; 12:8).
>10. If the mate involved in what Jesus’ Word says is sex sin does repent of and forsake what Jesus Word says is sex sin, sexual immorality, in godly sorrow (2 Cor 7: 10,11) experiencing Jesus’ chastening as significant weakness or sickness or personal loss (1 Cor 11:30,32) after 1 Cor 5:3-5 and Mat 18:15,16 have been done, then that mate is to be considered and treated as a believer who is to be restored to the marriage and Christian fellowship (Heb 5:8,9; 12:8; 2 Cor 2:5-11). This would mean that the the wife would leave her adulterous relationship and be reconciled to her husband, as King David took Michal back with God's blessing. It is unlikely she would be able to get sole custody of the children she had in adultery. If her husband had already remarried and his repentant wife wants to be reunited with him, that is a very complicated situation. Please contact the author for more information on this situation.
>11. If a mate who claimed to be a genuine believer in Jesus is found to be unbelieving, unsaved by Jesus (according to Mat 18:17), then the saved mate should stay with the unsaved mate as long as the unsaved one wants to live with him/her, except in the case of abuse (Mat 10:23), and the saved mate is free to remarry in Jesus if the unsaved one leaves, separates from or divorces the saved one (1Cor 7:12-15).
God loved the people of the world so much that He sent His only Son born of a woman, God
with us, to be our Passover Lamb and die for us to cover our sins if we sincerely and
genuinely call and depend on our living King Jesus of Bethlehem ALONE to save us from our
sins and present us to Abba Father in Heaven, covered with His perfect righteousness.
